No. The publisher describes simpler vocabulary and shorter sentences that keep the integrity of the original texts, on the principle that good translation is good communication. The literal-to-idiomatic meter shows where readers place its feel.

What text is it based on?
Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia for the Old Testament, with some Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint readings, and the UBS 4th revised edition and Nestle-Aland 27th edition for the New Testament.
Are verses missing?
