Is this the full Bible text?
Yes. It carries the complete CSB text, with the study notes, word studies and other tools on the same page as the verses they refer to.
Which translation is it based on?
The Christian Standard Bible, Holman’s 2017 translation. The CSB text was revised in 2020; the publisher says earlier editions pick up the 2020 text in later print runs.
Who wrote the notes?
The Logos listing names Edwin A. Blum and Trevin Wax as editors and says more than a hundred scholars contributed. The publisher’s own product pages credit the notes to “CSB Bibles by Holman” and name no contributors.
Is it word for word?
The base text, the CSB, uses what Holman calls “optimal equivalence”, which sits between word-for-word and thought-for-thought. The literal-to-idiomatic meter shows where readers place its feel. The notes are commentary, not a translation.
Has the study Bible itself been revised?
The publisher lists one print edition, from 2017, and an ebook titled “Revised and Updated”. The underlying CSB text was revised in 2020 and is carried into later print runs.
