Disputes and context
EditorialWe describe each dispute, attribute each position, and take no side.
Creative additions to the Gospel accounts
The series adds backstories, characters and dialogue that are not in the Gospels. Got Questions Ministries writes that the writers have inserted or modified some characters, storylines and details of the inspired original, and concludes that watching is a matter of conscience for each viewer. The makers’ FAQ says some locations and timelines have been combined or condensed, that backstories and some characters or dialogue have been added, and that this artistic imagination is designed to support the truth and intention of the Scriptures; it encourages viewers to read the Gospels.

The standing questions
Answered from the spec sheet and the positions above, never from the meters.
Do I need to pay or subscribe?
No. The released seasons are free in The Chosen app and on its website. Prime Video carries the seasons under Amazon’s terms. See the price and where-to-watch facts.
Is it word for word from the Bible?
No. The makers say backstories, some characters and dialogue are added and some timelines condensed. See the dispute note.
