Verses in footnotes
Some verses printed in the Reina-Valera 1960, such as Acts 8:37, appear in TLA footnotes rather than the main text, because the TLA follows the United Bible Societies Greek text. Readers who hold to the Textus Receptus regard this as an omission; Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas says its notes record the manuscripts that add the words and the important textual variants.

The standing questions
Answered from the spec sheet and the positions above, never from the meters.
Is it word for word?
No. The publisher says it translates the meaning of the original rather than its grammatical forms, in simple sentences meant to be read aloud. The literal-to-idiomatic meter above shows where readers place its feel.
What text is it based on?
Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia for the Old Testament and the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament, fourth revised edition, for the New Testament.
Are verses missing?
Some verses printed in the Reina-Valera 1960 appear in footnotes instead of the main text, because the TLA follows a different Greek text. The text is complete by its own textual basis.
Is it approved for Catholic use?
The standard edition has 66 books. An interconfessional edition adds the Deuterocanon; the publisher’s pages checked state no imprimatur, so none is recorded here.
Who translated it?
A team of men and women of different Christian confessions, regions and disciplines working for Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas; the SBU regional committee gave final approval. The publisher does not name them.
What reading level is it?
No figure is published. The publisher says it uses simple sentence structure, avoids hard words where it can and is written to be understood when read aloud.
